Frosty Sassy Forest, written by Olive Ann Burns, discusses the main topic of understanding faith and faith in a small town society. Frosty Sassy is known as a town that considers faith important. Throughout the eyes of Will Tweedy, the reader perceives how a few main heroes practice religious beliefs and their comprehension of God's phrase. The primary discussion of religion available comes from Grandpa Blakeslee. He has a significant viewpoint on the number of spiritual issues. Other characters' spiritual opinions are usually interjected through the entire story. While the story moves along, Burns uses the character types to display the understanding of trust and religious beliefs in the community of Chilly Sassy. Burns shows the differences between rigid religion and moderate religious beliefs in her characterization of Hoyt Tweedy and Grand daddy Blakeslee. Hoyt is a Presbyterian and makes the family stick to certain spiritual practices. In the story, someone discovers the lovely view of Christianity in a amusing way. Will and his Grand daddy and Grandmother Blakeslee imagine some of the stringent religious rules are pointless. After his grandma dead, Will says " The one thing I previously missed was the pork and sausage Gran had been featuring meвЂќ (Burns 54). Combined with restrictions on eating pig, Hoyt refuses to allow Will certainly to fish on Weekends. Grandpa's perspective on religious beliefs is different than Hoyt's. Old man Blakeslee views religion as looking at god as a close friend. Grandpa disagrees against predestination. Unlike the Methodist preacher, who thought Will was spared by being murdered by the coach, Grandpa assumed the incident was not predestined. Grandpa explained " Naw, you livin cause you possessed the good perception to fall down twixt them tracksвЂќ (Burns 97).
